In the week leading up to International Women’s Day, Welsh Netball was proud to be in attendance at the launch of ‘Watch Her Go,’ a new network and movement that aims to raise the profile and visibility of women’s sport in Wales. Watch Her Go (known in Welsh as Amdani) will shape the development of women’s sport across the nation as netball among other female sports continues its relentless surge in popularity.
The launch took place on Tuesday 5 March and featured some very high profile names in sport including legendary broadcaster Clare Balding and Olympian Jazz Carlin. Members of the Wales senior long squad were in attendance and enjoyed taking the opportunity to listen to some inspirational speakers and shared their own experiences as female athletes.
2018 Commonwealth Games captain Suzy Drane tweeted: “[It was] great to be at the [Watch Her Go] launch event at the Senedd this evening. Inspiring to hear from some of our leading role models in sport, across a variety of roles, and be in the presence of many more.”
Wales player Clare Jones added: “Huge thank you to Clare Balding for spending some quality time with Welsh Netball this evening! Here’s to women uniting in all areas of sport, focusing on a huge task ahead through
#WatchHerGo and continuing to promote our much loved sports to the best of our abilities!”
